Satchel I bough from Cerafin Online

Since my first Cambridge pink satchel bag , I was already smitten. I told myself I need to get more . Some fun facts about satchel : Did you know that the leather satchel had been worn by Roman legionnaires and English boy-scholars during the time of Queen Elizabeth? But don't worry it remains as stylish and practical as it was a thousand years ago. The funny thing about satchels is the design being very easy to copy that any attempt to patent the design in favor of one company is bound to fail. So that's why I bought mine locally from Marikina. Haha!

At the time of order , the 12 inch Khaki wasn't in stock so I had to wait for roughly two weeks for my order to arrive. I got it from Cerafin Online for Php 500 plus the shipping fee of Php 100.

Dimensions of the bag : 12 inches in length; 9 inches in height; 4 inches for base width and the strap is pretty adjustable. It's made of thick Faux Lealther with outside pocket, reinforced strap and magnetic closing snap.

What I don't like about the leather material as compared to the below yellow satchel it's not quite sturdy. You need to stuff it with a book or big notebook just to hold the shape in place. Other than that, it's perfect. And I must mention that, it's very easy to clean. You just need a cotton and alcohol.

What compelled me to buy this one from one of my FB seller friends was the yellow-striped color. LOL. It matches my yellow blouse perfectly well. This one is priced at Php680. You can select from a wide range of patterns and colors, and prints—flowers, polkadots, hello kittys, and plaid... you name it. This is smaller compared to the Khaki one, this being only 11 inches. It's big enough to fit all your belongings-- wallets, notebooks and etc but not too big to be unwieldy and heavy to carry when walking in a crowd. I like this better than the Khaki one as this one doesn't tend to "deform".

With the rainy days ahead, I found myself absorbed and immersed reading this moving story of these two Afghan women, Miriam and Laila. It's one of the saddest and compelling novel I've read in my entire life, I think it's because fantasy was my preference before and now I am slowly shifting to these type of emotionally wrecking books. I am beginning to like to read novels that are true-to-life and stories that will convulse me with sobs .Even though I have not experienced most of what Mariam and Laila have, I found a strange connection between the story and myself.

Anyway, the novel centers around the friendship between Mariam and Laila who are both going to be Rasheed's unfortunate wives . The novel is split into four parts, with Mariam focused in the first part, continuing with Laila in the second , and the struggles of the two women in the third part. The story runs through a time where there was inevitable violence towards women caused by the recurring political instability in Afghanistan. It is an exceptional, brilliant well plotted story of friendship that stood the test of time between Laila and Mariam . The book opens the window on a part of the world that very few of us are familiar with. It opens our eyes to the struggles of every Afghan women during those times.

It's definitely worth reading so prepare some hankies for this heart-wrenching story.!

My New Baby

First look at my phone baby Galaxy S3 Marble White :) Why white?? It's a girl's thing yah know. I lost my iphone 5 last month so I had to buy a new phone :( . It's a lot cheaper than the iphone 5 but specswise, the phone is awesome! I love the elegant metallic curve round the corner. The S3 is very very light at an unbelievable weight of 133 grams. The camera is very impressive in good lighting conditions .

Joy ride

Sometimes it will take you just one joy ride around the city to see what's happening around you, how other people struggle for a day's meal. I wonder if it's a "joy ride" at all. Heartbreaking :( Ya Allah, please help those people who live and die in poverty and hunger. :( !

I've spent my whole Sunday backreading my previous posts. And Oh my God, I have found so many fractured grammars T.T. Sorry. I need a lot of proofreading before hitting the publish button next time..

Books

Sometimes, I do feel like I've got the wrong way. There are some nights that I wonder if this was the correct career decision after all. After passing the dreaded board exams I feel like becoming a CPA wasn't really meant for me. I don't like being the office doing debits and credits or worse auditing. Academically, I am good but when it comes to technical application, I know for sure I will suck. If I could only change the past. But I have faith in the Supreme Being. Sooner or later, I'll end up exactly where I'm supposed to be, doing something I absolutely, positively love. It could be something not related to accounting. InshaAllah!

To cast my fears and regrets aside, I have been keeping myself busy reading books these past few weeks. They are my source of relief, the only ones I turn to when I'm depressed and alone! Books will teach you a great deal about life ( of course it will depend on the kind of books you're into). Above all, books in some ways help solve the mystery of life , so they act as your guide, true friend and companion.

So far I am done with High Druid of Shannara Tanequil. And currently reading Part 3 Straken of the book on my iphone's kindle. The trilogy is a must read if you are into fantasy .The book's fast faced and you wouldn't feel bored while reading it. Can't wait to finish the book so bye for now :) Thanks for reading ^.^

New Theme

Hi Everyone!

Quite obviously, I have a new blog theme! I have made a few tweaks to the original theme. I had to change the blogtitle's font and as well as with the sidebar's . The scrollbar's new and I have installed a tagboard on my the sidebar ^_^ . I have still loads of things to do with the layout. So far, I am loooooooooooooving my new layout. ^_^ It's pretty unusual that I'm feeling extra happy today which used to be a rarity for my very pessimist/realist self .

Out of the blue, I just want to share my to do list today. Haha.

Finish the Shannara Book I'm reading. I have still have piles of books waiting to be read.

I can't wait for June to come. Hmmm. I am very excited and nervous at the same time for my first job as a Certified Public Accountant :) . Weeeee. It means that I am one step away from my dream of buying my own house :) haha. Haha. My so unplanned flight to Manila last month really paid off though I do not feel like I did particularly well in one of the interviews I attended to. I was a total nervous wreck. Still, Alhamdullilah I got accepted. I thank God the second after the head of the Human Recource Dep shook my hands and said "Congratulations in advance" .

So here are some snaphots of my almost one month stay in Manila.

On my second day, we found our way to an old house few blocks away from where I stayed. Shooting for "Paraiso". Saw Mateo and Jessy up close. Jessy's so pretty that my confidence level had to drop from 10 to 0.

Drama

The way I am feeling right now is one of those thousand moments I feel sorely confused and lost. But I've never been this confused in my entire 22 years. I feel like I am stuck in a gutter losing sight of my ambitions and purpose in life. I have this horrid feeling that I am no difference to the dead. Physical death will make no difference. I am nobody worth their attention. I hate life. Life's UNFAIR. Why does it have to be so hard for me??!

So I have been doing a lot of thinking the past three months of being idle and useless. I am confounded by choices but the simple task of choosing which one seems to be a very difficult task for me. Even If I could some of these days, I don't know where and when is the best way to start . I am at this point in my life where I don't know what to do with my far-from-perfect-life.

Hahaha! Found this draft I wrote last week.XD Reading those few lines above makes me realize that I am suffering last week from some kind of mild psychotic breakdown that runs in the family. Allhamdullilah, I prolly think I have recovered over the worst of it now :)

I'm not completely fond of lip products, infact I don't use any lip products (except lip balms) at all. But recently, I found the need to use lippies for my upcoming job interviews in Manila this February. I have natural VERY dark lips (very proud of it) so I need to get it covered to look and feel more put-together and professional. I have one round pumpkin NYX lipstick but I think I would typically look my best in in a matte kind of lipsticks (or Am I just being delusional?). So anyway, I bought matte lip creams in Antwerp and Addis Ababa. I was able to get these two shades for a cheaper price at Php 280 each.

I really like the matte finish on both, it's very opaque and glides smoothly on your lips. They are a true matte and are amazingly long lasting for me. They really stay put. Matte formula are typically very drying but these two aren't entirely drying at all. I think that's because I don't apply it bare through,I make it sure my lips are exfoliated and conditioned beforehand. Lip balms will definitely do the the trick. And best of all, I love the very sweet smell.

Sorry if my face looks so unpresentable XD. Haven't applied any make up on, just the soft matte lipcreams.

Waahh. I'm fuming with anger! An annoying guy I knew way back in highschool somehow got a hold of my number and started texting me every damn minute of his life. Not only that, he started to chat me on facebook. I'm not being rude but it's just that I don't entertain guys who would like to fling with me. Waaah he's desperate moves was sky high. Maybe he's looking for someone to marry, that wouldn't be obviously me, not in a gazillion years! I will never marry a man who doesn't know his limits. He crossed the lines na. Gosh, I'm not selling my heart! and I'm not darn cheap. So please go away, I don't want you in my life!
